Garha police have succeeded in apprehending the notorious criminal Asif Mansuri, alias Shibbu Khan, who was absconding in murder case of Dinesh Jharia, since November 1, after a dramatic attempt to escape. Police received a tip-off late at night that Asif was hiding in the dense Madan Mahal hills. When the Gadda police surrounded the area, Asif had jumped from the hilltop in an attempt to escape from the spot. Police personnel chased the criminal and found him in injured condition as his both legs were fractured and his right hand was also badly injured due to falling from the hilltop. He was immediately arrested and rushed to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital. Asif Mansuri, a notorious criminal, resident of Supatal Chhui Khadan, has a long criminal record, with charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery and assault across at different police stations. Police had earlier took action under the National Security Act (NSA) against him.

 

On November 1, Asif, along with his accomplices Nihal Kevat, Radhe, Ajju and Buchhi, had murdered Dinesh Jharia in Gadda in a revenge attack, stabbing him with knives. Police had arrested all the other accused but Asif was absconding since more than a month. CSP, Garha, Devendra Pratap Singh informed that the police received information that Asif was hiding at Madan Mahal hills for several days and his associates bringing him food and water. Acting promptly on the information on Monday night, Garha police team led by SHO, Nilesh Dohare, the police set up a cordon around the area. When they attempted to capture Asif, he jumped from the hill, resulting in his injuries.
