ADDRESSING the participants at the seminar on ‘Engineering as a Career Option’ organised here by IIT-HOME on Sunday, Sumeet Gattewar told the students to look into engineering as a career option before they leap onto JEE preparations. He highlighted that students need to have the right information and correct expectations while making a choice; to ensure that they are motivated and can sustainably put in consistent efforts towards their self-set goal. The seminar was attended by over 500 people including students and parents who traveled for the session from outside Nagpur. Sumeet Gattewar who himself is an alumnus of IITHOME, is a B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur and was the institute silver medallist.

 

The Founder and Managing Director of IIT-HOME, Nisha Kothari later addressed the crowd explaining to them the philosophy of IITHOME and the training approach which is long since, in alignment with the new National Education Policy, 2020. Kothari further said, “IIT-HOME believes that it is our social responsibility to guide students to explore all career options and know the details of relevant ones before they commit to an option.” Parents and students were benefitted from the guidance about engineering as a career, engineering institutions and examinations.
