AJAY Sharma-Manoj Jain pair scored an upset win over Raju Kamwani-Ujwal Kothari duo in the ongoing Central Provinces Club’s Advocate MK Naidu Memorial Tournament.
In what turned out to be a one-sided game, Sharma-Jain beat Kamwani-Kothari 91-52 in the second round.
In the first frame, Sharma-Jain were restricted at a nominal score of 39 points.
In the second frame, Sharma-Jain cornered Kamwani-Kothari duo and restricted them at a score of 20 points.
In the process, Jain potted six red balls in a break and Sharma supported his partner by finishing off the other red balls.
In another match, Sunil Kamwani-Abhishek Rai defeated Vikrant Gulati-Shreyas Mehadia 154-138.
Kamwani-Rai potted 63 against which Gulati-Mehadia could manage 54.
Kamwani-Rai then scored 91 in the third frame, thereby setting a target 154 points. Gulati-Mehadia duo could score 84 points only. In another match, Siddharth Samel-Abhishek Maheshwari defeated Nikhil Surjan-Karan Kale 186-79.
