In a proud moment for Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Deputy Director Prakash Kumar Verma has been honored with the prestigious TOFT Tigers Travel Award in New Delhi. The award, which recognises outstanding contribution towards wildlife conservation, was presented to Verma under the theme of Climate Protection.
Verma, a 2014 batch IFS officer, was awarded ‘Of the Year-2024’ Award by TOFT, a renowned wildlife conservation organisation, for exceptional work in biodiversity conservation, species introduction, and effective forest fire management during his tenure at Kuno National Park.’
His efforts in engaging the local community in wildlife conservation and promoting peaceful coexistence with wildlife were also recognized.
TOFT (Tour Operators for Tigers) is a non-profit organisation established in 2004 with an aim of promoting wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism and plastic-free jungles. The organisation works at national level and provides resources to tiger reserves, while also recognising and rewarding individuals who have made significant contributions to wildlife conservation.
As stated, Verma’s achievement is a testament to the outstanding work being done by the Bandhavgarh Tiger
Reserve in protecting and conserving India’s rich wildlife heritage. The award is a significant recognition of the reserve’s efforts and will inspire others to work towards conservation of our natural resources.
TOFT Tigers Travel Award is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the field of wildlife conservation and Verma’s recognition is a proud moment for the State Forest Department and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
