The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is making continuous efforts to improve the city's traffic system. It is removing all big and small temporary encroachments causing obstructions in traffic flow.
The Anti-Encroachment squad is conducting drives to clear encroachments. Assistant Anti-Encroachment Officer Sagar Borkar informed that they conducted the drive in areas including the route from Civic Centre to Omti Chowk, Ghantaghar, Victoria Hospital, and areas around Ganjipura, Lordganj Police Station, Khova Mandi, Phool Mandi, Bada Fuhara, Home Science College road and surrounding areas.
He said during the drive the anti-encroachment squad also seized four vehicles, 12 temporary stalls and handcarts. He said small vendors have also been cautioned that repeated disruptions to traffic will lead to punitive actions.
It may be noted that during a recent held high-level meeting, State Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh directed JMC officials to streamline the
city's traffic system. He instructed them to identify and remove all encroachments disrupting traffic.
Following the State Minister's directives, the anti-encroachment squad of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is conducting the drive regularly and removing both big and small temporary encroachments. It is paying special attention to clear roadside stalls and temporary setups that block traffic flow.
