A distinguished neurologist renowned for his remarkable contribution to the field of medicine, ‘Padma Shri’ Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram was presented with the prestigious Nagpur First Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award at a glittering awards ceremony held here at Parwana Bhawan on Kingsway in the city, on Sunday evening. Nagpur’s very own Dr Meshram has been conferred with the award for his unwavering commitment in advancing neurology and fostering awareness about brain health.

 

Anand Sancheti, Managing Director, SMS Limited, presented the award to Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram, who was accompanied by his wife Namrata Meshram, in presence of renowned Chartered Accountant Hemant Lodha; Zaki Quazi of Orient Group; Shashank Rao, International Chair, Nagpur First; Tanveer Mirza, India Chair, Nagpur First and Social Track Chair; J P Parekh, Treasurer; Amitabh Khanna, Member of Executive Committee; Dr Vivek Nanoti, Environment Track Chair; Dr Rizwan Ahmed, Technology Track Chair; and others. In addition to this, Nagpur First Foundation also gave awards in 14 different categories.

 

In Healthcare category, Dr Satish Deopujari received the award. Similarly, Global Social Award was presented to Dr Satish Gogulwar; Innovation Award to Dr Rajesh Joshi; Science and Technology Award to Dr Rajesh Badhiye; Special Category Award to Abhishek Thawre; Manufacturing Award to Prashant Garg of Diffusion Engineers Limited; Individual Professional Award to Afzal Mitha; Sports Award to Moin Malak; Art and Culture Award to Rahul Sahay Mishra; Established Entrepreneur Award to Ghanshyam Ahuja; Information Technology Award to Vishnu Tambi and Vinod Tambi; Agriculture and Food Processing Award to Manohar Bhojwani; Media Award to Viren Ghosh; and Food and Hospitality Award to Swapna Sagdeo and Neeraj Sagdeo. The awards ceremony was part of the two-day 11th edition of Nagpur Global Summit -2024. The awards recognise Nagpur-based individuals and organisations with extraordinary influence, which have contributed to the advancement in various fields and have impacted the society, business sphere and community. Editor of The Hitavada Vijay Phanshikar and Hemant Lodha were members of the jury. Dr Richa Sugandhh conducted the proceedings while Nakul Agrawal proposed the formal vote of thanks.
