A decision to revive the historic Rajim Kumbh in Chhattisgarh to rejuvenate its cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh was made during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, which reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting religious tourism and preserving traditional practices on Friday. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated the revival of the Rajim Kumbh is part of a broader initiative to revitalize cultural traditions in Chhattisgarh. This ancient event holds immense cultural and religious significance, attracting devotees and tourists from across the country and beyond. By reintroducing this tradition, the state aims to not only safeguard its cultural heritage but also elevate its recognition nationally and internationally. The Cabinet’s approval of the draft amendment bill underscores the government’s dedication to facilitating the re-establishment of the Rajim Kumbh. This legislative amendment will transform the existing Rajim Maghi Punni Fair into the grand spectacle of the Rajim Kumbh, breathing new life into this centuries-old tradition.
