Discussion on the State Budget for the financial year 2024-25 has begun in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Monday with Konta Congress MLA Kawasi Lakhma initiating discussions in the House. Kawasi Lakhma raised various allegations against the State Government. Replying the allegations of the Congress party, Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar said that corruption was at peak during the five years rule of the previous Congress Government in the State. BJP MLA Chandrakar alleged that public transport system was ruined in the previous Congress Hovernment in the last five years.
The BJP MLA said that the budget presented by Finance Minister O P Choudhary would open the avenues for employment generation and it would help to improve the standard of living of the people of the State, he added. Opposing the State Budget, Congress MLA Daleshwar Sahu also raised various allegations on the BJP led government. Dharsiwa BJP MLA Padma Shri Anuj Sharma said that the transfer industry was run in the previous Congress Government. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Government is working for welfare of the people of the State, he added.
Congress MLA Dwarkadheesh Yadav, BJP MLA Bhawna Bohra, Congress MLA Sangeeta Sinha and BJP MLA Rohit Sahu participated in the discussion. During the discussion, the treasury bench and opposition bench passed comments and they exchanged hot words. MLA Dharamjeet Singh, who was in the chair, asked the MLAs not to create obstruction during the discussion. The discussion on the Budget will continue in the House on Tuesday. The Chair adjourned the proceedings of the session by 11 am on Tuesday.
