The annual examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for class 10 and 12 commenced on Thursday with the additional subject question papers. The main subject exams for class 12 will begin on February 19, and for class 10, the main subject exams will start on February 21 this year. The class 10 examinations will continue until March 10, while the class 12 examinations will conclude on April 2. Class 10 assessments will be based on a marking and gradation system, while Class 12 examinations will follow the traditional pattern. Examination centre authorities have been instructed to ensure essential amenities for students, including comfortable seating arrangements, access to drinking water, medical assistance, clean toilets, and other necessary facilities. The Education Department is stepping up efforts to prevent unfair practices. Multiple teams of Flying Squads have been established to conduct surprise inspections at examination centers.

During these inspections, team members are prohibited from using cell phones or disrupting students' concentration. Each team will spend only five minutes at each center, strictly adhering to a one-team-per-center policy. The Education Department has also implemented a code of conduct for Flying Squad teams, requiring them to perform their duties without disturbing students. Additionally, medical teams and ambulance services have been stationed at every examination center to provide immediate medical assistance in emergencies. If necessary, candidates will be transported to the nearest hospital for further treatment. Furthermore, examination center staff has been directed to provide full support to students, including the provision of drinking water by designated water carriers stationed at each center.
