In a much-awaited administrative development, the State Government’s Home (Police) Department on Friday evening issued ‘in-situ’ promotion orders, accompanied with different pay matrix benefits to 20 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of Chhattisgarh Police. All these elevated officers belong to 2006, 2010 and 2011 IPS batches respectively. A Departmental Promotions Committee (DPC) meeting to promote all the aforesaid IPS officers to next level was held on January 30. Of 20 IPS officers, three IPS officers of 2006- batch were promoted to Inspector General of Police (IGP), whereas nine officers from 2010- batch were elevated from selection grade to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) rank and eight officers from 2010-batch were upgraded to SSP rank with selection grade pay scale matrix benefits.

 

As per the orders issued from Mantralaya, Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur in Atal Nagar, the three IPS officers of 2006-batch elevated to IG rank with entitled benefit of level pay matrix14 (Rs.01, 444,200 - Rs.02, 18,200) includes Mayank Shrivastava, presently posted as Commissioner Public Relations; R N Dash, DIG Special Intelligence Branch (SIB)/Anti Naxal Ops (ANO) and B S Dhruw, DIG Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (CAF), Police Headquarters (PHQ). Similarly, nine IPS officers of 2010-batch promoted from selection grade to Deputy DIG) rank with entitled benefit of level pay matrix-13A (Rs.1,31,100-Rs.02,16,600) comprise AIG (PHQ) Abhishek Meena; SP Baloda Bazaar Sadanand Kumar; SP Mungeli Girija Shankar Jaiswal; Commandant 10th Battalion CAF (Surajpur) Sujit Kumar; AIG (Security) Special Branch (PHQ) M L Kotwani; SP Surajpur M R Ahire; Commandant 3rd Battalion CAF Amleshwar (Durg) Arvind Kujur; Commandant Counter Terrorism and Jungle Warfare (CTJW-Kanker) Shankarlal Baghel and Commandant 14th Battalion CAF (Balod) Dukhuram Aanchala.

 

Lastly, eight IPS officers of 2011-batch elevated to SSP rank with selection grade pay scale benefits entitled for pay matrix-13 (Rs 1,23,100- Rs012,15,900) are SP Raipur Santosh Singh; SP Kanker Indira Kalyan Elesella; Commandant 21st Battalion CAF (IR-Balod) Sarjuram Salam; Commandant 7th Battalion CAF (Bhilai) Goverdhan Ram Thakur; Commandant 5th Battalion CAF (Jagdalpur); SP ATS Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh and SP Balrampur Dr Lal Umed Singh.
