CAF Company Commander Tijauram Bhuarya, who attained martyrdom in a brutal Naxal incident, was accorded Guard of Honour at his native village Hatkodal under Durgukondal block in Kanker district. Bhuarya was hacked to death by Naxals near the camp in Bijapur district, on February 18. The last rites, steeped in honour and respect, were performed in the presence of dignitaries including local MLA Savitri Mandavi, S P I K Elesella and other public representatives. In a poignant display of reverence, the SP and other officials shouldered the mortal remains of the braveheart and paid their heartfelt tributes.
The MLA expressed profound grief over the irreparable loss suffered by the region and the family of Bhuarya, emphasising that no compensation could ever fill the void left by his martyrdom. She pledged to petition the government to extend all possible assistance to the bereaved family. Echoing sentiments of resilience and determination, the SP asserted that the sacrifice of Bhuarya would not go in vain, affirming that security forces and police personnel would respond with resolute action against the perpetrators. DSP Augustine Das, who served alongwith Bhuarya, reminisced about his friendly demeanor and unwavering bravery, lamenting the abrupt end to their camaraderie following Sunday’s tragic events.
He expressed deep respect and admiration for Bhuarya’s dedication to duty and service. The elder brother of the martyr, Gangaram Bhuarya, serving in police force, drew strength from his younger brother’s sacrifice, affirming his own commitment to serving the motherland, even amidst the grief of losing a sibling. Gangaram emphasised the indomitable spirit of patriotism.
