In a major breakthrough, combined team of Crime Branch and Khitola police seized consignment of 56.23-kilograms Ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakh, a mobile handset, cash of Rs 4,200 and a bolero jeep and arrested an accused. The narcotic consignment was being transported concealed in the modified roof of bolero jeep. The arrested has been identified as Gajraj Singh (74), resident of Lalpura village, Jabera from Damoh district. According to Crime Branch, acting on a tip-off, Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS) constituted a combine team of Crime Branch and Khitola police station under the supervision of Additional SP (Crime), Summer Verma, Additional SP (Rural), Suryakant Sharma and SDOP, Sihora, Parul Sharma.
 
Team started a search in Sarda village for bolero jeep bearing registration number MP-20BA-1297. Continuing a thorough search, police succeeded in stopping the identified jeep and a man tried to escape from the jeep but alert cops apprehended him after a chase. The man named himself as Gajraj Singh of Damoh district. IN the search of jeep, police failed in finding any clue of narcotic substance. Thereafter, police found that the rood-top of the jeep was modified. Police searched the hollow space of modified roof and found a major consignment of Ganja weighing around 56.236 kilograms amounting to Rs 11.25 lakh. Khitola police have registered a case under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act while further investigations are underway to identify the source of receiving the narcotic stock and apprehending other persons working in the network of narcotics trade and transportation.
 
The narcotic consignment was seized with active working of police team comprised of Crime Branch’s ASI, Prashant Solanki, Ashok Mishra, Head Constables, Balram Pandey, Atul Garg, Rakesh Bahadur, Santosh Dixit, Harishankar Gupta, Manas Upadhyay, Constables, Ajay Lodhi, Cyber Cell’s Amit Patel and Khitola’s SI, Anil Yadav, ASI, Buddhadev Singh, Head Constable, Chhote Singh and Constable, Sumer Singh.
