State Minister for Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment, Narayan Singh Kushwaha inaugurated Regional Abilympics at Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University premise on Saturday. Dr. Pradeep Dubey presided over the programme which was also attended by Patron, Dr. Jitendra Jamdar, MLA, Ashok Rohani, Sushil Tiwari, Mayor, Jagat Bahadur Singh, Chairperson JMC, Rikunj Vij, Collector, Deepak Saxena, Association’s office-bearers arrived from Delhi, Deepankar Banerji and Baldeep Singh Maini. In his address, State Minister, Kushwaha expressed happiness that the first Abilympics is being organised to provide a platform to the Divyangjans to display their efficiency and skills. As Divyangjans are inseparable part of our society who needs mere opportunities to prove their mettle. Wherever they got the opportunity, they surprised the world with their mastery and excellence.
 
According to the State Minister, the government makes efforts to improve the lives of Divyangjans and launches many schemes for their welfare, which are needed to be implemented on practical grounds with public participation. These schemes are planned to ensure their welfare in education, employment, pension and all other fields. The department has recently sent the proposal of Rs. 1500 for National Family Aid and Pension for Regional Abilympics. He appealed common public to support the Divyangjans to polish their skills as the government plans to make films on the lives of Divyangjans who display excellent performance in different fields. Dr. Pradeep Dubey emphasized over the need to promote the Divyangjans towards Skill Development keeping their talents in view, so that new scopes can be made available for them.
 
He also extended gratitude towards them who paved way for progress of Divyanjans through their excellent jobs and skills. Commissioner, Disability, Sandeep Rajak mentioned about various efforts made by the Madhya Pradesh Government to take Divyangjans from ‘Divyangta’ to ‘Divyata’. General Secretary, Abilympics Association, Dr. Jitendra Aggarwal updated about efforts being made at national-level to ensure employment and empowerment of Divyangjans. Competitions highlighting creative skills of Divyangjans including Computer Programming, Web Page Designing, Basic Data Processing, Word Processing, Cooking, Embroidery, Tailoring, Dress Making, Outdoor Photography and other skill-based activities are being organised during Regional Abilympics. Around 180 participants from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are displaying their skills during the event.
