274 runs,6 wickets Manav Rahija single-handedly guides DPS to huge victory

MANAV Rahija, all of 13 years, single-handedly escorted his side Delhi Public School (DPS), Kamptee Road to a mammoth win over The CDS School, Subhash Nagar on Monday. Rahija, a Class VIII student cracked 274 runs clobbering the ball to all parts of the field as DPS posted an imposing 438 for seven in 40 overs in the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament. Later, the right-hand offie snared six wickets from 4.3 overs which had two maidens and conceded only six runs as CDS managed only 23 runs from 8.3 overs. Right-handed opener Rahija slammed a whopping 46 boundaries in his 132 balls knock at the Essence International Schools ground. Rahija played through the ground and did not hit a single aerial shot.
 
He added 101 runs for the opening wicket from 45 balls with Rajveer Gomekar who was a spectator from the other end as he scored only 11 runs from 13 balls from those 101 runs. Rahija then added 209 runs for the third wicket with Gaurav Bishnoi who scored 30 from 32. Rahija’s fine innings of 274 runs ended in the 28th over when he was bowled by Atharva Lokhande. Later, while bowling, the CDS batters danced to Rahija’s tunes as he bowled excellent off-spin to take six wickets. He started his wicket-taking spree from the fifth ball of the first over and sealed the game in the 9th over.
 
Sahurkar scores unbeaten double ton Divyansh Sahurkar, captain of Kurvey’s New Model School hit an unbeaten double century (222) while Rajas Vaidya slammed undefeated 172 as they beat Shahu Nagar, Besa School by 413 runs.
Sahurkar’s knock was laced with 36 boundaries and two sixes while Vaidya hit 22 fours. Shahu Nagar, Besa were bundled out for mere 38 runs in 10 overs.
