THE Association for Industrial Development (AID) held a bilateral business meeting with The Consulate General of Canada represented by Elaine D’Souza, Trade Commissioner in the city on February 28, 2024. The meeting aimed to strengthen economic and trade relations between Canada and the industrial sector in Nagpur and Vidarbha. The meeting provided a platform for fruitful discussions on potential collaborations, partnerships, and opportunities for mutual growth. D’Souza emphasised the importance of fostering strong ties between the Canadian business community and the vibrant industrial landscape of Nagpur.
 
Key highlights of the bilateral business meeting include explored various avenues for trade and investment between Canadian businesses and the businesses in Nagpur and Vidarbha. Both parties expressed interest in identifying synergies that could lead to beneficial partnerships in sectors of IT, Agritech, Food, Ferromanganese Technologies, Silicomanganese Technologies, Defence and Explosives, Manganese and minerals.
 
The Consulate General of Canada expressed its commitment to providing ongoing support to facilitate business connections between the two regions. D’Souza said, “This bilateral business meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between Canada and Nagpur’s industrial community. We believe that the discussions and connections made during this event will pave the way for successful collaborations that benefit both parties.” Ashish Kale, President, AID; Ajay Kapoor, Co-convenor, IT Sector, AID; Sameer Bendre, Chief of Operations, Persistent Systems and Pankaj Bhokare, Executive Secretary, AID were present at the meeting.
