Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has said that according to Niti Aayog, 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line, emphasising the government’s commitment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to eradicate poverty entirely. He was addressing the Kisan Mahakumbh in Raipur. Singh pledged that all farmers would receive soil health cards within a year. Singh also praised the effective governance of Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, stating that the State would progress significantly under his leadership and within the 100 days of his governance, the State is back on the saddle of development. He highlighted the BJP’s dedication to development, stressing the importance of rectifying the stagnation of the past five years. Addressing the agricultural concerns, Singh mentioned the affordability of urea in India compared to other countries, reassuring farmers that their interests would be safeguarded. He also acknowledged the abundance of millet in State and emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting farmers.
 
Furthermore, Singh condemned the politics of appeasement practiced by the Congress party, contrasting it with the BJP’s approach focused on justice and humanity. He recounted the government’s successful intervention during the Ukraine war to rescue stranded students, highlighting the efficacy and integrity of the Modi administration. The Kisan Mahasammelan, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aims to mobilize farmers ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The event features a grand pandal and a unique rangoli showcasing various crops grown in Chhattisgarh, including millets and vegetables. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressing the farmers at the Mahasammelan emphasized the BJP’s commitment to farmers. Chief Minister Sai reflected on the historical neglect faced by farmers under Congress rule. He credited the BJP for introducing farmer-friendly initiatives such as Kisan Credit Card and crop insurance, initiated during tenures of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Sai underscored the trust placed by the people of Chhattisgarh in the “Modi Ki Guarantee,” which propelled the BJP to power in the state.
 
He highlighted the swift actions taken by the BJP government in the past two and a half months, including the initiation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for 18 lakh people and the disbursal of the outstanding bonus of 12 lakh farmers, amounting to Rs 3716 crore. Regarding agricultural policies, Chief Minister Sai announced the procurement of 21 quintals per acre of paddy and the payment of the difference amount of Rs 917 per quintal to farmers on March 12, totalling Rs 13000 crores. He also mentioned the Mahtari Vandan scheme, under which Rs 1000 will be transferred to the accounts of 14.70 lakh women on March 14. Furthermore, Chief Minister Sai informed the audience about the Ramlalla Darshan Yojana and the recent departure of the first train of devotees to Ayodhya, affirming his government’s commitment to fulfilling all promises made under the “Modi Ki Guarantee” soon. State Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam speaking on the occasion reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers. The Kisan Mahasammelan organized by the Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) witnessed a massive turnout. BJP State President Kiran Singh Deo, Saroj Pandey, Lata Usendi, Rajkumar Chahar, Deputy CMs Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma and various MPs, MLAs, and other dignitaries attended the Kisan Mahasammelan. Rajnath Singh was accorded a warm welcome by CM Vishnu Deo Sai on his arrival. Rajnath Singh met former CM Raman Singh and other dignitaries.
