Although it was festival of Rang Panchami but office of the Sub-Registrar offering registration and stamp duty for property registration remained open with huge rush of public on March 30. Large number of people rushed to the office to get documents registered before end of the financial year top avoid price rise. All the three sub-registrar office in State capital Bhopal remained open for business on Saturday. The office will remain open on Sunday too. People lined up at the office since morning hours. Office of Sub-Registrar at ISBT saw packed space with no room for single person till late evening. If we talk about the sub-registrar office at Pari Basar and Berasiya, it seemed like a fish market. On Saturday, 924 slots were allotted to the public. There are 13 sub-registrars at all the three offices and each official got 72 slots. On March 29, more than 400 properties were registered and on March 30, more than 500 documents and properties were registered (till writing this report).
Deputy Registrar Arvind Chauhan said, “Property price and stamp duty is being revised from April 1 so most of people want to complete the due work in current financial year. This is our peak time and we are receiving rush of people. Office will remain open on Sunday to provide last minute facility to the public.” According to reports, property price is set to swell on average 7.19% on 1443 locations from April 1 as per collector guideline. On an average 400 documents are being registered every day in Bhopal. The new guidelines will be effective from April 1 and after that people will pay extra bucks for stamp duty of their land, flat, house, etc properties.
