In order to motivate the voters for casting their vote in maximum numbers, a unique transgender fashion show was conducted in Bhopal on Saturday. In this fashion show, transgender walked on the ramp and appealed people to cast their vote. Senior citizens, physically challenged, First Voters Manch and SVEEP team also participated in the show. The programme showcased at Ten Number Market where large number of people gathered to enjoy. District Collector and Returning Officer Kaushlendra Vikram Singh and SVEEP Nodal Officer Rituraj Singh were also present during the show. Assistant Nodal Officer of SVEEP Reetesh Sharma informed that fashion show has been organised to attract the voters. There was also ‘Kalbelia’ traditional dance.
The programme concluded with administering of pledge to cast vote compulsorily. Assistant Nodal Officer of SVEEP Reetesh Sharma said, “This is the first such event in Bhopal in which transgenders walked on the ramp. The fashion show was organised to create awareness about the transgender community and to create positive environment in the society for them. Participants enthusiastically walked on the ramp displaying cultural costumes, ornaments and appealed general public to use their right to vote.”
