In a recent development, the Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC), Manohar Mamtani has intervened in the case involving alleged assault by State Minister’s son on a restaurant owner, following the alleged tumultuous behaviour at the police station. The incident, which occurred in Bhopal, has sparked outrage and calls for accountability. According to the reports, in the said incident, which occurred in Bhopal on March 30 late night, the son of State Health Minister was allegedly involved in assaulting a restaurant owner and his wife and creating a ruckus at the police station. An altercation unfolded between the minister’s son and the couple who owned the restaurant, leading to physical violence. Subsequently, a case was registered against the minister’ son for verbal abuse, assault, and issuing death threats. In response to these developments, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has demanded a detailed report from the Bhopal Police Commissioner within 15 days.
