A grand procession was taken out under the auspices of Brahmin Ekta Manch on the eve of Lord Parshuram’s Prakatotsav and Akshaya Tritiya, on Thursday. Thousands of people of Brahmin community, apart from people from all walks of life participated in the procession. The procession commenced from Malviya Chowk in the afternoon and after crossing important thoroughfares of the city including Satna Building, Lorddganj, Ghamandi Chowk, Bada Fuhara, Kamania Gate, Sarafa, culminated in front of Kotwali Police Station. Earlier, the procession commenced after the worship of idol of Lord Parshuram. Later, religious leaders, saints and intellectuals led the procession.

 

Displays of flags, horses, chariots, drums, bands, singing groups, live tableaus were the center of attraction. People of other communities placed a number of stages at important points and welcomed the procession. Distinguished religious leaders, renowned saints, representatives from the Brahmin community, MLAs, Corporators, representatives of women’s organizations, representatives from all sections of the society, businessmen, industrialists, sports figures, educators, thinkers and the general public participated in the procession on the eve of Parshuram’s Prakatotsav.
