RANA Pratap Nagar Police booked four members of a family, including three women, for opening a firm -- Captree Investments -- and duping 30 persons of more than Rs 5.48 crore by promising them six per cent to seven per cent monthly interest on the investments. The accused have been identified as Nilesh Uikey (40), Priyanka Uikey (36), both residents of Trimurti Nagar; Neha Roshan Meshram (36), a resident of Cosmos Town, and Rashmi Uikey-Gode (42), a resident of Hyderabad.
 
According to police, the accused quartet opened an office at Plot No 49, Cosmos Town, Trimurti Nagar, and lured people into investing money by assuring monthly interest between six per cent and seven per cent. Between December 1, 2021 and May 6, 2024, collected Rs 5,48,96,956 from 30 investors and later defrauded them. Following a complaint lodged by Vasudeo Sakharam Raut (62), a resident of Plot No 85, Rai Town, Isasani, MIDC -- police registered a case under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC, and Section 3 of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, against the accused persons.
