Nowadays, the State is experiencing a spectrum of weather patterns. While some areas were engulfed in a heat wave such as Bhind, Chhindwara, Niwari, majority were facing storms and rain. On Thursday morning, the city witnessed scorching sunlight, followed by strong winds in the afternoon. Meanwhile, area like Rewa, Satna, and Sehore experienced heavy rainfall, with Sagar encountering thunderstorms and hail. For Thursday, indicating a full U-turn in the weather pattern, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for strong winds, rainfall, and hail in several districts, including Bhopal and Indore, for today. Wind speeds of up to 90 kilometres per hour (kmph) are expected in places like Sanchi, Bhimbetika, Sehore, Sagar, Damoh, Panna and Rewa, accompanied by lightning. Hailstorms are also possible in some areas. Moderate thunderstorms with lightning, are anticipated in Bhopal, with wind speeds reaching 60kmph.
 
Over the past 24 hours, rainfall was recorded in 17 districts, with strong winds reported in 19 districts, reaching up to 74 kilometres per hour in Katni. Various regions experienced either heavy or light rainfall, including Rewa, Bhopal, Neemuch, Ujjain, Betul, Khandwa, and others. As per IMD Bhopal, in West MP Bhopal recorded maximum rainfall with 25 ml while on eastward side, Dindori received maximum rainfall with 52 ml. According to Dr Divya E. Surendran, senior scientist at IMD Bhopal, the current weather patterns are attributed to a cyclonic circulation system, moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal, changing wind directions, and the passage of trough lines.
 
This weather phenomenon has led to sporadic rainfall across several districts on May 7 and 8th. The forecast for the next four days indicates a continuation of varied weather conditions. For today, more than 30 cities may experience thunderstorms and rainfall including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur. Similar weather patterns are forecast for May 11, and 12, with some regions experiencing cloud cover and light rainfall.
