IN yet another terrifying road accident at least three people including a woman were killed while three others were wounded when a recklessly -driven SUV rammed into a stationary trailer on Ratanpur Bypass, approximately about 30-kilometers away from here on Sunday. The trailer driver after the accident has escaped from the spot and is absconding. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital where their conditions are serious. Ratanpur Police under whose limits area comes have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for autopsy. Police have registered an offence and began investigations. According to information, about five members of Srivas family boarded on a SUV were going from Raghunathpur to Raipur on Sunday morning when the incident took place.

 

Police sources informed that when they reached near Ratanpur Bypass, the driver Surendra Kumar Porte (25) of Premnagar in Raghunathpur while giving side to another vehicle coming from behind, lost control from the steering and the car rammed into a stationary trailer parked unauthorised on the roadside. The impact of accident was so severe that car driver and two passengers Durga Srivas (40) and Nilesh Kumar Srivas (45) both residents of Raghunathpur were killed on the spot. Three others who were injured in the accident were immediately wheeled into the hospital where their conditions are critical according to doctors.

 

The trailer driver who was inside the cabin of his vehicle instantly after mishap abandoned his SUV and fled from the scene. He is still at large. Ratanpur Police that rushed to the spot after information took possession of the bodies and sent them for postmortem. Police seized damaged SUV and registered an offence against trailer driver. Further investigations are on. No arrest has been made so far.
