Though Nagpur division bettered its own results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination, it has to be satisfied with 8th position in Maharashtra State this year among nine divisional boards. Last year, Nagpur division’s HSSC result was 90.35%. This year it registered 92.12%. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education declared results of HSSC on-line on Tuesday. This time, Konkan division stood at first position as usual by scoring 97.51 per cent and this year, Nagpur division has remained at the eighth position like last year among all the divisions. A total of 1,55,374 students appeared in Nagpur division in the HSSC examination. Out of them, 1,43,131 students passed, with 71,046 being boys and 72,085 girls. The number of students failed is 12,243. Around 83,067 students were enrolled in Science stream in Nagpur division. 82,844 students appeared for the examination, out of which 80,425 students have passed and their pass percentage is 96.69 per cent. Of the 17,474 students enrolled in Commerce stream, 17,390 students appeared, of which 15,178 students passed. The pass percentage of Commerce is 87.28. In Arts stream, 50,219 students were enrolled while 49,665 students appeared and 42,769 students passed. Their pass percentage is 86.11. Similarly 4,981 students were enrolled in Vocational course. Out of them, 4,902 students appeared in the examination of those 4,295 students cleared. Their pass percentage is 87.61.
