Superintendent of Police, Jabalpur, Aditya Pratap Singh took the initiative to destroy 1.5 lakh litres of seized liquor that were kept at different police stations for the last 25 years. During his inspection at different police stations, SP, Singh found that the seized liquor were kept in many rooms at police stations. When inquired about destruction of these liquors, the TIs informed that even after the cases resolved, these liquors could not be destroyed in lack of clear instructions. Hence these liquors were kept occupying a large space at different police stations. Taking initiative, Superintendent of Police, Singh (IPS) discussed the same with Collector, Deepak Saxena and ordered 36 TIs from Jabalpur Urban and Rural to prepare a report for destroying the seized liquors and send it to the District Magistrate, Jabalpur. The District Magistrate issued order to destroy the liquor.
 
Following which, a total of 1,50,000 litres of liquor seized in 1700 cases in 36 police stations of Jabalpur Urban and Rural, were destroyed by razing it to the ground with a road roller in the forest of village Lohkari under Barela police station on Wednesday. Other officers who present during the process included Additional Superintendent of Police (Zone-2/Crime), Samar Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Zone-4), Suryakant Sharma, SDM, Kuldeep Parashar, Assistant Excise Commissioner, Manikpuri, Assistant District Excise Officer, Pramod Kumar Dhurve.
