Amid the severe heatwave and day temperature around 45 degree Celsius, various cities including Bhopal recorded drizzling during evening hours of Wednesday. The intense midday sun makes it difficult for people to go outside and mostly people preferred to venture out for essential task in day hours. Streets and roads remained deserted during the noon hours in Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh state is experiencing extreme heat in the month of May. Meteorological department has issued severe heat wave warning for Datia, Bhind and Niwari on May 23. Heat wave warning for Thursday is released for Rajgarh, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Badwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Ratlam, Agar, Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemach, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Rewa, Satna , Maihar, Anupur, Katni, Panna, Damoh, Chatarpur and Tikamgarh.
 
On Wednesday, many districts recorded temperature over 44 degree Celsius. Ratlam was the hottest at 45.0 degree Celsius. Damoh recorded 44.8 degree Celsius, Khajuraho 44.2 degree Celsius, Nowgong and Sagar 44.0 degree Celsius, Datia 44.1 degree Celsius, Dhar 44.9 degree Celsius, Guna 44.2 degree Celsius, Khandwa 44.5 degree Celsius and Shivpuri 44.0 degree Celsius. Among the major cities of state Bhopal recorded maximum temperature 43.9 degree Celsius and minimum 30.4 degree Celsius. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature 43.7 degree Celsius and minimum 29.5 degree Celsius.
 
Indore recorded maximum temperature 43.4 degree Celsius and minimum 29.1 degree Celsius. Ujjain recorded maximum temperature 43.8 degree Celsius and minimum 28.5 degree Celsius. Dr Ved Prakash, senior scientists IMD Bhopal said, there is no respite for people during the month of May. He said, in coming days, day temperature is expected to soar around 46 or 47 degree Celsius. He said, another cyclonic appearance is active in state and a western disturbance is active with trough line. Temperature is sizzling above 43 degree Celsius in 21 cities of state for past one week.
