Receiving the complaint related to selling of sub-standard and adultrated food products at Railway Station, the joint team of Food Safety Administration, Food Department and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation along with Railway Protection Force conducted a raid at Anna Basti, Nehru Nagar, close to 2nd bridge, Jabalpur on Thursday. The Food Safety Officers collected samples of edible oil and Samosa from base kitchen of Ibrahim and Company and rice and fruit drinks from the base kitchen of Meghna Rajendra Kumar Mangla.
Food Safety Officer, Pankaj Shrivastava stated that, “after the raid, we have sealed the base kitchen of Ibrahim and Company and another unauthorised firm operated by Amit Negi alias Gujji for not having FSSAI License.” The team also seized domestic gas cylinders being used at all the three firms. Shrivastava further informed that the food items were prepared in an unhygienic and unhealthy environment. Following which the JMC team not only seized these food items but also decomposed it. Samples of food products kept in deep freezer by Amit Negi, were also collected. As Amit Negi was not present at the time of raid, hence another house was also sealed. All the samples collected during the raid, will be sent to Bhopal-based State Food Testing Lab.
As per rules, the authorized officers also issued notice to all the three firms not to prepare and sell food items. Food Safety Officer, Shrivastava said that the team comprised of RPF Inspector, Mohammed Irfan Mansoori, Sub Inspector, Arvind Kumar Singh, Food Safety Offier, Vinod Dhruve and Sarika Dixit, Assistant Supply Officer, Anita Sorte and jawans from Railway Protection Force.
