State Minister Krishna Gaur addressed a press conference on Thursday. She slammed the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and accused her of indulging in corrupt practices while discharging her duties as the Chief Minister. She said, “the Calcutta High Court gave a landmark decision on Wednesday where the court has cancelled all the other backward classes (OBCs) certificate created after 2010.” Welcoming the decision, she asked the Government of West Bengal to implement the order with immediate effect and said that the order has bring a new ray of hope in the lives of the people of the state coming from OBC category. She further said that the backward class unit of the party has also burnt the effigy of Mamata Banerjee. Hitting out at Mamata Banerjee, she said that the National Backward Classes Commission has made arrangements for giving reservations to 480 backward classes in the country. But in 2012, the Mamata Banerjee led government passes a new law and included 48 castes of Muslims in the same snatching the rights of the OBCs.

As time passed, the state witnessed the appointments of Muslims on various posts and the needy were left isolated. She also accused Banerjee of doing the politics of Muslim appeasement and vote bank. She said, “Due to these practices, the people of the country have understood that the leaders of the INDI alliance want to snatch the rights of the downtrodden of the country. They want to give reservations to the Muslims. She (Banerjee) came with the slogan of ‘Ma, Maati and Manush’ (mother, soil and human) but now it has been changed into ‘Musalman, Madrasa and Mafia’ (Muslims, Madrasa and Mafia).” She alleged. Gaur emphasised that Prime Minister Modi is constantly warning the people of the country that forces intend to snatch reservation from the dalits and tribals and want to give it to the Muslims. The country has seen that the Congress has always provided reservation and other benefits to the Muslims from the back door. This has been seen in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.

“In 1909, a separate electorate system was devised for the Muslims of the country due to which the country suffered from partition in 1947. Now these things are re emerging with Congress. The grand old party gave the evidence of being anti OBC when in 1951, at the time of Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1977, Janta party came into power and constituted the Mandal commission but before the release of the report, Indira Gandhi became the prime minister and never had an discussion on the report. This was reiterated by Rajiv Gandhi and Manmohan Singh,” she said. Mayor Malti Rai, former judge Ram Meena along with other leaders and state office-bearers were also present in the press conference.
