A former Corporator of Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) and one other were arrested following the arrest of the three in connection with the brutal killing case of Naka Chowk in Ganjpara, Durg. In the case Kotwali, Durg police constantly tracked the absconding accused and finally arrested them from Kondagaon district of State. Police sources informed that the two more accused arrested in the brutal killing were identified as Ajay Dubey (51), the former Durg Municipal Corporation Corporator and his nephew Amitabh Dubey alias Chandu (29), both residents of Pacharipara, Durg. The police said that with carrying out raids at all possible hideouts the police team finally arrested them from their relatives’ place in Kondagaon.

 

However the relatives of the accused were ignorant about their involvement in the heinous crime, the police said. The police have already recovered the blood stained weapons and other corroborative evidences on instances of the accused. The police are further investigating to ascertain finally the facts of the case and establishing the criminal charges. ASP (City) Abhishek Jha told the media persons that as per the facts recorded in the course of investigation, the murder conspiracy was hatched by the accused Ajay Dubey. He is also accused of giving shelter to one of the accused Amitabh Dubey alias Chandu following the murder. In the case the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU) launched the extensive search operation for the accused at large and succeeded in laying hands on them.

 

It may be recalled that in the case on Tuesday late night, one Mantri Yadav (48), a resident of Pacharipara, Durg was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at Naka Chowk in Durg. After the report of heinous offence Kotwali, Durg police swung into action and arrested the three accused including Akshat Dubey, Shubham Sharma and Vansh Rajput involved in the heinous offence. However the two accused in the case continued to hoodwink police but the joint police team constantly tracked them and finally succeeded in zeroing in on the accused. The brutal killing was the outcome of old enmity between the accused and the victim.
