The third day of Nautapa, considered as hottest nine days of year, troubled people since morning and mercury remained above 47 degrees mark. While highest day temperature in State was recorded as 47.2 degrees Celsius, Bhopal saw maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius. A red alert of heat wave has been issued for Ratlam, Dhar and Rajgarh. At the same time, there is possibility of intense heat in 46 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Others. City roads almost remained deserted during day. Apart from day temperature, Bhopal recorded all-time high night temperature that broke record all records of past 40 years. On Sunday-Monday night, minimum temperature was recorded as 32.7 degrees Celsius. Meteorological Department, Bhopal said that on Monday early morning temperature crossed the figure of 35 degrees Celsius (5 am) and till 11 am, temperature was recorded 41.4 degrees Celsius in Bhopal.
Entire State is grilling under heat wave with temperature of 46.2 degrees Celsius in Datia following with 46.0 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho. Meteorology Department said that in past 10 years, this is the highest temperature in Madhya Pradesh. Earlier in year 2015, temperature touched 45 degree Celsius. On first day Nautapa (May 25), maximum temperature in Bhopal was 42.9 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was recorded as 29.4 degrees Celsius. On second day of Nautapa, maximum temperature in Bhopal was 45.5 degrees Celsius and minimum 29.5 degree Celsius. IMD has released severe heat wave warning for 21 districts in State for next two days. Heat stroke has hit the normal life and city roads remained deserted throughout day. Number of patients in hospital OPD is rising everyday with complaints of heat stroke symptoms. Health department has suggested people to stay indoors during day hours if there is no necessary work.
Highest day temperature was recorded as 47.4 degrees Celsius in Datia, 47.2 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho, Guna and 47.0 degrees Celsius in Damoh. Day temperature remained above 46 degrees Celsius in Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Shivpuri , Damoh, Khajuraho and Sagar. Day temperature remained above 45 degrees in Bhopal, Gwalior, Khandwa, Khargone, Shivpuri, Damoh, Khajuraho, Nowgong and Sagar. Minimum temperature remained above 30 degrees Celsius in Bhopal, Guna, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi and Tikamgarh. Among the major cities of state Bhopal recorded maximum temperature 45.4 degrees Celsius and minimum 32.7 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature 46.7 degrees Celsius and minimum 29.1 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature 41.9 degrees Celsius and minimum 29.0 degrees Celsius. Ujjain recorded maximum of 43.0 degrees Celsius and minimum 29.5 degrees Celsius.
