Marriage celebrations turned into a heart wrenching incident when five teenage brothers met their untimely death while two are critically injured. The incident took place when a speeding tractor trolley on which seven cousin brothers, aged between 10 to 18 years, were travelling on overturned in village Tineta village under the jurisdiction of Chargavan police station, on Monday morning. The deceased have been identified as Dharmendra Thakur (18), son of Ramprasad Thakur, Devendra Warkade (15), son of Mohan Warkade, Rajvir Gond (13), son of Lakhanlal Gond, Anoop Warkade (12), son of Govind Warkade and Lucky Markam (10), son of Lochan Markam while two injured named Dalpat Gond (12), son of Niranjan Gond and Vikas Uike (10), son of Ram Kumar Uike, all are residents of Tineda Devri village.
All the boys were assembled along with families of three villages for a marriage function in Tineta village. Arrangements for marriage function were on full swing when one of the deceased Dharmendra Thakur was going to fetch water on a tractor trolley when his cousin brothers expressed their desire of travelling on tractor and accompanied him on tractor. They were on the way when the speeding tractor was overturned causing severe injuries to seven boys. Witnessing the incident, villagers reached the spot and rushed the injured at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital where five of them declared brought dead in primary check-up while condition of two injured is reported to be stable undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The incident leads to sorrowful environment through the Tineda Devri village and adjoining villages and marriage celebrations turned into mourning. Learning about the incident, senior police and administrative officers reached the hospital and sought information about the health of two injured. Collector, Deepak Saxena took cognizance into the case and declared financial relief of Rs 50,000 each for bereaved family members and Rs 10,000 each to injured and assured the bereaved families for providing all necessary support.
