The accused of dual murder of Railway employee and his son finally surrendered after 77 days before Civil Line police. Police had already apprehended the minor daughter of deceased from Haridwar three days back. The arrested has been identified as Mukul Kumar Singh (21), son of Rajpal Singh, resident of Millennium Colony in Civil Line and minor girl. Police have produced the accused Mukul Singh before the court and obtained 7 days remand for further investigation into the case. On March 15, 2024, Rajkumar Vishwakarma, railway employee and his son Tanishq Vishwakarma (8), resident of Millennium Colony in Civil Line, were brutally killed at their residence under a conspiracy by Mukul Singh with the help of his minor daughter.

During questioning, minor girl, who was arrested by Uttarakhand police in Haridwar, disclosed that she along with Mukul Singh had planned to kill her father for lodging police complaint against Mukul while they also killed her 8-year-old brother for shouting. After the surrender of minor girl, Mukul reached Jabalpur and surrendered himself before Civil Line police. Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Friday. He informed that after fleeing from Jabalpur, the accused went to Katni, Indore, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Shilong (Meghalaya), Jhansi, Agra, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Haridwar and other cities.

Accused tried to enter Nepal but failed due to absence of documents. During the period, they spent most of their time at railway stations and bus stands and travelled in trains without ticket. After being financially exhausted, they started taking meals at bhandara and Gurudwara. SP Singh informed that photos of minor girl and accused Mukul were circulated throughout the country but they always tried to dodge the police in different states. On May 27, accused reached Haridwar where a policeman stopped them and took them at Women’s District Hospital for further inquiry. Meanwhile, Mukul dodged the police and managed to escape from the spot. Receiving the information, Jabalpur police reached Haridwar and took custody of minor girl and brought her in Jabalpur.
