Buldhana MP Prataprao Jadhav, who holds the record of being elected from Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency for the 4th time in a row, has been inducted as Minister of State (MoS), for which he took oath on Sunday evening. Similarly, Raksha Khadse, who won from Raver Lok Sabha constituency, of which one Assembly constituency is from Buldhana district, also took oath as MoS. This way, Buldhana is getting 2 Ministers of State. MP Prataprao Jadhav: Prataprao Jadhav, who won from Buldhana Lok Sabha seat for the 4th time, was also a 3 time MLA, was previously a trader working in Mehkar Agricultural Produce Market Committee from the same place where he started his political journey in 1988. He became MLA from Mehkar Assembly in 1995 and was the Minister of State for Sports and Irrigation. Later, he won both the 1999 and 2004 Assembly elections from Mehkar constituency. In 2009, after the Mehkar Assembly Constituency was reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the Buldhana Lok Sabha Constituency was also reserved for the Scheduled Castes. MP Jadhav contested the Lok Sabha elections from the constituency in 2009 and won. He followed that by winning the same seat for 3 more times in a row (2014, 2019, 2024).

Between 2019 and 2024, he became the chairman of both the Centre’s Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Communications, Electronics & Information Technology. It may be mentioned that before MP Prataprao Jadhav, only 2 other MPs were Minister of State, namely Mukul Wasnik from 1984 to 1989 who became the Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare and Anandrao Adsul who became Union Minister of State for Finance in Atal Behari Vajpayee’s NDA government at the Centre. MP Raksha Khadse: Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Raver Lok Sabha constituency Raksha Khadse has also been included as Minister of State. Raksha Khadse’s Raver Lok Sabha constituency seat includes Malkapur Assembly constituency from Buldhana District.

She is the daughter-in-law of Eknath Khadse, who is a senior leader of BJP and is now in Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar). Raksha Khadse was given her candidature by the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha from Maharashtra. Khadse won her seat from Raver and has been included in Modi 3.0 Government considering her good nature. It may be mentioned that there are seven Assembly constituencies in Buldhana Lok Sabha, Buldhana, Chikhli, Sindkhed Raja, Mehkar, Khamgaon and Jalgaon Jamod. However, the Malkapur Assembly constituency of Buldhana District comes under Raver Lok Sabha constituency. This means that the Buldhana District has got 2 Ministers of State in the Modi 3.0 Government.
