Aiming to develop the State as a promising destination for religious tourism, Dr Mohan Yadav led Government announced several initiatives. In this series, Chief Minister Yadav, on Sunday, launched ‘PM Shri Religious Tourism’ Helicopter Service from Ujjain. In the first phase, this service will provide air connectivity between Bhopal, Ujjain, Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and Indore. Devotees will get booking window at IRCTC site. It will boost connectivity between two Jyotirlingas situated in the State.
Since two world famous Jyotirlinga Shri Mahakal in Ujjain & Omkareshwar in Nimar fall in this circle, devotees can get visit both the temples in shorter time. The devotees will be able to visit Shri Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Shri Omkareshwar via helicopter. Notably both the Jyotirlingas are situated in Malwa-Nimar region. According to information, an air-circuit of Indore-Ujjain and Omkareshwar has been carved out for the pilgrimage. The devotees can now travel to Mahakal Temple in Ujjain and Omkarehswar Temple as part of the package, which will cost Rs 12,524.
He also announced that airport will be built in Ujjain and the Government of India has already given approval for it. The Aviation Department is working as the nodal agency for this air pilgrimage service. As the demand for air travel increases on this route, the number of helicopters will also be increased with Sarv Aviation Company. The Chief Minister extended thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi under whose leadership, the Centre has given nod for airport in Ujjain.
