Graduates, Post-grads, Transgenders Apply for 347 posts of Police Constables

FOR 347 posts of constables in Nagpur Police Commissionerate, the city police have received 29,987 applications. The recruitment drive would commence at the Police Headquarters, Takli, from June 19, 2024. Of the 29,987 aspirants, 7713 are women and five are transgender. Most of the aspirants are graduates and post-graduates. Similarly, 55297 applications have been received by the police for 252 posts of sepoys at Nagpur Central Jail. Of these, 15,618 are women aspirants and five transgenders. The recruit drive for the post of jail sepoys would start from July 11. Speaking to mediapersons, Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Singal informed that Joint Commissioner of Police Aswati Dorje would be the overall In-Charge of the recruitment drive for the post of constables in city police. Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil would be the In-Charge of the recruitment of Jail sepoys. The recruitment of the Jail sepoys would start from July 11 and would continue till August 17.
 
Dr Singal informed that the police units have already started recording biometric details of every participating candidate to check impersonation in written and physical tests. Officers have been directed to be extra vigilant while conducting physical fitness and written exams. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has also been kept on alert to check unfair means by candidates during the recruitment process. Police personnel whose family member, relative, friend or friend’s son or daughter had applied for the post have been kept away from the drive.
 
More than 250 CCTV cameras would be installed to monitor the recruitment process. Two deputy commissioners of police, three assistant commissioners of police, 46 police inspectors and assistant police inspectors, and 261 police constables would be deployed in the recruitment drive. ACP (Headquarters) would the nodel officer. Joint Commissioner of Police Aswati Dorje, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioners of Police Gorakh Bhamre (Zone-III), Niketan Kadam (Zone-V), Vijaykant Sagar (Zone-4), Ashwini Patil (Headquarters) and Shweta Khedkar were present at the press conference.
