KARATEKAS from across Maharashtra performed brilliantly and clinched medals at the Asahi Cup state-level karate championship which concluded recently. The championship was organised in a joint venture of Ryu Kyu Shorin Ryu Karate Do of India and Gondraje Bakht Buland Shah Adwasi Bhaudyog Sansthan at Dutt Sabhaghar in Zingabai Takli.
A large number of players participated in the competition which was conducted with an objective to create awarness about the importacne of self-defence among children.
 
The karatekas who were successful in clinching medals in the compitition have a chance to represent India in the World Championship going to be held in Japan next year. Earlier, the competition was inaugurated by MLA Vikas Thakre. During the inauguration President of Udan Mahila Chetna Manch Poona Hindustani, Kohle, Poonam Hindustani, Director of Kartavya Foundation Shailesh Pandey, Vice-President of Zila Parishad Kunda Raut, Sangita Gire, Rekha Wande, Sanjay Mahajan, Brijesh Prasad and many others were present.
