Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday reviewed the Bhopal and Indore Metro projects and checked the work done in this project till the date. He also discussed the remaining work timeline with ministers and officers. In the meeting CM Yadav was informed that Bhopal’s first phase (AIIMS to Karond) will get completed by the year 2027 and 90 per cent work on priority corridor (AIIMS to Subhash Nagar) is done. Second phase of work from Subhash Nagar to Karond route is being started with soil testing.

 

The meeting was held at residence of CM where Urban Administration Minister Kailash Sarang, State Minister Pratibha Bagari, Metro Rail Project MD C B Chakrabarty and other officials were present. Construction work in Indore was also discussed. Officials said that work on 17 km area in Indore metro is continued. Officials said that Subhash Nagar to Karond route is being started and entire project will get end by year 2027. They said, till year 2031, around 4.5 lakh people will be commuting via metro train per day. Officials said that Indore Metro work is done by 40 per cent. In Bhopal, there will be 27 Metro trains while in Indore, 25 Metro trains will be running. Special facility will be provided to Divyang and female travellers in the metro train.
