Following a dispute with her husband, a woman fled her maternal home with her four-year-old son. While residing in Nagpur, she befriended a young man. However, the man harboured animosity towards her son. Allegedly hatching a conspiracy, he took the boy to the railway station, where he boarded a train and left the child alone. With assistance from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Ganeshpeth police successfully located the boy at Wardha railway station. The police reunited the boy with his mother and arrested the accused, identified as Hansraj Dyaneshwar Dakhne (25), residing in Pora, Lakhani, Bhandara.
According to the police, the 30-year-old woman had left her village a few months ago due to disputes with her husband. She found work at a lodge in Nagpur and began residing there with her son. During this time, she developed a relationship with Hansraj, and they started living together. Hansraj expressed a desire to marry her, which she accepted. However, Hansraj viewed her son as a hindrance to their relationship. On Friday, under the pretext of taking the boy to school for admission, Hansraj escorted him to platform number 4 at Nagpur railway station. A train bound for Wardha arrived at the platform, and Hansraj boarded it with the boy. Before the child realised what was happening, Hansraj disembarked and left the boy alone on the train.
Upon returning home, Hansraj falsely informed the woman that their son had been abducted by three men. Shocked, the woman grew suspicious of her husband’s involvement and lodged a complaint with Ganeshpeth police. During questioning, both the woman and Hansraj were interrogated which led the police to suspect Hansraj’s role in the incident. After intensive questioning, Hansraj confessed to leaving the boy on the train bound for Wardha. The police swung into action and contacted the GRP Wardha, who located the boy crying on the train. The child was identified based on a photograph circulated on social media. The police reunited the boy with his mother, and a case under Sections 317, 363, and 182 of the Indian Penal Code was registered by Ganeshpeth police.
