PM Shri Air Ambulance Service proved a life saver for a head constable posted at Katni who met with a fatal accident and was airlifted to Bhopal for better treatment at AIIMS on Wednesday. Head Constable Lalit Rai posted at 18th Battalion in Special Armed Force (SAF) has been airlifted to Bhopal for better treatment at AIIMS. He was taken to Dumna airport on Wednesday afternoon and shifted to Bhopal through PM Shri Air Ambulance with his son, Aman Rai. PWD Minister Rakesh Singh reached Dumna Airport to ensure smooth arrangements to shift Rai to AIIMS Bhopal through Air Ambulance Service.
 
On behalf of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the PWD Minister also assured Rai’s son, Aman to provide all required support for better treatment of his father. Rai, posted as Head Constable in 18th Battalion, SAF, received critical head injuries in a road accident at Jhinjhri, Katni on June 7, 2024. Rai was on his way to Police Line Camp on his Government motorcycle, when a Bolero hit his bike near Police Petrol Pump Jhinjhri. He was admitted to a local hospital in Jabalpur. With no improvement in his condition, the officers concerned decided to airlift him to Bhopal, AIIMS.
 
The Health Commissioner and Collector Deepak Saxena released immediate approval for free transportation of the patient through PM Shri Air Ambulance Service, on the recommendation of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Sanjay Mishra. This is the third case of airlifting critical patients to higher medical institutions for emergency treatment. Earlier, Govindlal Tiwari from Mauganj, Rewa and Ramgopal Tiwari from Panna were airlifted to AIIMS Bhopal for better treatment.
