Man killed, 5 workers hurt in mishap at Jayant Colliery of NCL in Singrauli

A man was killed while five people were injured after hole-pack machine crushed a Bolero camper at Jayant colliery of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) in Singrauli district under the jurisdiction of Morwa police station, on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sheetla Prasad Saket while five workers were injured. The injured were rushed at NCL Nehru Hospital where their condition is reported to be stable undergoing the treatment. According to the NCL administration, the incident took place following the human error as Bolero camper (CG-12S-2686) of a private company entered the prohibited area and was crushed under hole-pack machine.
 
The incident leads to the death of a worker named Sheetla Prasad Saket while five other workers named Satyalal Singh s/o Somaru Singh, Ramnivas Singh s/o Ram Sevak Singh, Nagendra Tiwari s/o Indrajit Tiwari, and Subedar s/o Salikram Panika were injured. NCL Administration will compensate the bereaved family members of deceased as per the rules while injured will also be given financial relief. A team of Director General Mining Safety (DGMS) will inspect the site of accident to ascertain reason behind the incident.
 
Receiving the information, Morwa police and Jayant outpost police force reached the spot of accident. They managed to rescue the injured from the camper and send them to Nehru Shatabdi Hospital for treatment. The body was sent for postmortem at district government hospital after conducting Panchnama. NCL officials arrived at the site and initiated relief efforts promptly. A DGMS team will also investigate the matter. Currently, the police have registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC while further investigations are underway.
