Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has targeted ruling BJP over missing poll promises. Ahead of Monsoon Session where the full budget will be presented on July 3, veteran Congress leader took a pot shot at BJP asking about Ladli Bahna, Minimum Support Price for wheat and paddy and price of cooking gas cylinder. Attacking ruling party, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that why State Government is silent on cylinder price. As it was claimed that if BJP voted to power price of LPG cylinder would be Rs 450. It was also promised that the Ladli Bahna Yojana installment will be raised to Rs 3,000 per month. Nothing has been done so far. BJP government talks about farmer’s welfare and announced that minimum support price for wheat and paddy will be hiked to Rs 2,700 per quintal and that of paddy to Rs 3,100 per quintal respectively. Notably, ahead of the Assembly elections in the state in 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released 96-page ‘Sankalp Patra’ (vision document) in Bhopal by BJP President J P Nadda along with the party’s state chief VD Sharma, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other leaders.

Its manifesto titled Sankalp Patra with a slew of promises, such as increasing the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat to Rs 2,700 per quintal and that of paddy to Rs 3,100 per quintal. Party leaders also promised concrete houses to more than 1.30 crore beneficiaries of MP government’s flagship scheme Ladli Bahna Yojana. The BJP also promised that beneficiaries of Ladli Bahna and the Centre’s Ujjwala Yojana would receive LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 450. last year during the launch of manifesto, the then CM Chouhan took a dig at Congress saying that the Congress party was wondering why the BJP released it on ‘Narak Chaturdashi’.

“The Congress doesn’t know mythology and history. It was the day when Krishna freed sisters from Narakasur,” he said, adding the BJP government has tried to fulfil people’s aspirations by implementing all its promises. BJP came to power and Dr. Mohan Yadav formed the government in December 2023. after completing six months , it is going to present its full budget on July 3 . Taking a dig on BJP government Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath gave a reference of old Hindi hit song “ Jo Vada Kiya Nibhana To Padega..” (whatever promises were made, need to be fulfilled) Kamal Nath reminded them “those were the promises you (BJP) made to the people. Expressing faith in you, people of state elected the party. But after forming Government, there is no discussion on these issues.”
