Fire incidents in the city are on the rise and recurrent blazing occurrences have become common in the town. As per the information, a fire broke on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday in a mobile shop at Karond and a loss of various electronic items has been reported. According to the eyewitnesses present at the location, the fire was in the shop was so huge that the it took around four hours to control it. The fire brigade team reached the location and launched an operation to control the fire incident in the area. People gathered in large numbers at the spot due to the flames that were arising from the fire and were witnessed from a long distance. After the incident, the whole shop turned into ashes. Since the fire occurred at midnight, there was no crowd at the location and no casualty or injuries were reported.

In a major relief, a major tragedy got averted as the adjoining shops didn’t catch the blaze. The spectators have suspected short circuit as the major cause of the fire. Notably, the fire incident is second in June. Previously, a fire broke at Milan Restaurant in MP Nagar on June 1. The police and the building owner also suspected short circuit as the primary cause for the incident. Not just limited to that, several other fire incidents have been also reported in the city. There is a suspicion that the shop didn’t have fire extinguishers or any fire safety mechanism.

Significantly, the district administration has launched a drive and is continuously checking fire fighting mechanisms in the city. But, they too seem like a drop in the ocean since the city is witnessing constant attacks of fire which is a leading cause of worry for the Bhopalites. Notices have been also issued to popular restaurant chains in the city and coaching institutions. Though the locations differed in their functionalities, what they had in common was the lack of fire fighting instruments.
