Polling under by-election in Amarwara constituency was held peacefully and voters turn out was 78 percent. There has been 100 per cent voting in Khakra Chaurai. Till 3 pm, 67 per cent voting was recorded. Of the total 766 voters, 387 were women and 379 men. Enthusiasm was witnessed among young and first-time voters. Long queues of women voters were witnessed at various polling centres. Voting for by-election on Chhindwara’s Amarwara seat started at 7 am and continued till 6 pm. Total 9 candidates contested in the by-election. Main contest is between BJP’s Kamlesh Shah, Congress’ Dheeran Shah and Gondwana Gantantra Party’s Devraven Bhalavi. Ruckus was reported during voting outside the polling booth set up in Amarwara’s school.
 
A voter got into an argument with the security personnel over documents. GNP candidate also reached the polling station. The ruckus subsided after talks. Congress candidate Dheeran Shah cast his vote in booth of Anchalkund polling station. In the by-election, voters are also voting by making cheating an issue. A voter Jain said, “We had elected our leader, he went to another party, cheated public, we have voted on this issue.” Rajesh Jain, President of Vyapari Mandal Cell says, “There are too many local issues. At present, voting should be in the favour of the Government.” In 2023 Assembly elections, Kamlesh Shah had won from Amarwara on a Congress ticket. Before the Lok Sabha elections, he joined BJP. Because of this, a by-election is being held here. BJP candidate Kamlesh Pratap Shah voted at Bansuria Kala polling station in Harrai. Collector and District Election Officer Sheelendra Singh and Chhindwara SP Manish Khatri inspected polling stations in Amarwara.
