A team of 16th Central Finance Commission, headed by its Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya, arrived at Raipur on Wednesday evening. Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya and the members of the Central Finance Commission were accorded a warm welcome by the senior officers at Swami Vivekananda Airport. Members of the Commission Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Dr Manoj Panda, Dr Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Secretary Ritvik Pandey, Joint Secretary Kamal Kumar Mishra, Joint Director Raghavendra Singh, and other delegation members have reached Raipur. They were warmly welcomed by Finance Department Secretary Mukesh Bansal, Chief Executive Officer of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran Saurabh Kumar, Secretary of State Election Commission Dr Sarveshwar Bhure, Managind Director of Chhattisgarh State Medical Services Corporation LTD Padmini Bhoi, and Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh. They were welcomed with state ‘gamcha’ and bouquets.
 
According to the Central Finance Commission's schedule, the Chairman and members will meet with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in his ministerial chamber for discussions at 10 am on Thursday. Following this, at 10:25 a.m., the Finance Commission meeting will be held at the Mahanadi Bhawan. Chief Minister Sai will address this meeting, where various issues, including the state's financial needs, will be discussed.
 
A presentation on the state's financial status will also be given. On the same day, from 2:30 pm to 5 pm at Hotel Mayfair, the Finance Commission will hold discussions with representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions, civic bodies, and political parties. On July 12, the Central Finance Commission will meet with representatives of industry and commerce organisations at Hotel Mayfair from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. Following this, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., there is a scheduled visit to Nava Raipur. After the Nava Raipur tour, the Finance Commission representatives will depart for Jagdalpur. After an overnight stay, on July 13, they will hold a meeting with Panchayat representatives at the Jagdalpur Circuit House.
