Conduct field visits, expedite work as per guidelines: Sampatiya Uike

 

 

 

During the review of the Jal Jeevan Mission via video conference at Jal Bhawan, Public Health Engineering Minister Sampatiya Uike emphasized that divisional and district officers must conduct field visits promptly and ensure adherence to mission guidelines. Minister Uike stressed the importance of completing mission tasks within specified timelines and maintaining high quality standards. She highlighted the need for rigorous testing of drinking water during the rainy season, along with regular chlorination and cleaning of water tanks to ensure villagers receive clean water.

 

According to the information, Minister Uike instructed officials to expedite long-pending projects within two months and warned of strict actions against those failing to meet deadlines. Notably, expressing dissatisfaction with Balaghat's performance, she instructed officials to issue show cause notices as necessary. Minister Uike emphasized that all officers must fulfill their duties with utmost integrity, considering the department's vital role in providing clean drinking water to villagers. She directed that certification of schemes should be completed during the Gram Sabha scheduled for August 15th.

 

The minister commended officers for achieving top national ranking in geo-tagging and advocated rewarding those excelling in their duties. Furthermore, recognizing officers' efforts in ensuring clean drinking water during summer, she stressed that Jal Jeevan Yojana implementation should involve Panchayats only after rigorous testing. Public Health Engineering Minister conducted a comprehensive review of Jal Jeevan Mission progress at divisional, district, and block levels, urging Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, and Assistant Engineers to accelerate project advancements. Additionally, Secretary P Narhari said that the works will be reviewed every 15 days and the works will also be reviewed regularly at the divisional level. All officers should complete their works on priority basis within the time limit. Chief Engineer KK Sonagariya was also present in the meeting.
