Railway authorities to demolish old buildings for the development of Bhopal Railway Station 
 
The Railways authorities are keeping an eye on the encroachments and we will take all the requisite actions to demolish the same hindering development of our stations. If any encroachment is found over the land of the Railways, an anti-encroachment drive will be initiated and actions will be taken as per the prescribed laws. At present, no encroachment hurdle is being seen at the station development, said the General Manager of West Central Railway, Shobhna Bandopadhyay interacting with the media on Tuesday. If the Bhopal Municipal Corporation finds any encroachment outside the Railways land, proper action should be taken by the concerned body by initiating anti-encroachment drive against the defaulters, said General Manager Shobhna Bandopadhyay speaking over the question of difficulties faced by the passengers such as traffic jam, narrowing of roads due to squatters stalls installed outside the Bhopal platform.
 
The General Manager while inspecting Bhopal Railway Station directed the concerned officials to take all the requisite actions for the development of the station. According to the sources, the West Central Railway is planning initiate a development plan at the Bhopal Railway Station by demolishing the old structures behind the newly-developed building of platform number 1. “The authorities will carry the demolition drive over the old structures of the railways behind the newly developed building of platform number 1.
 
The concerned are planning to initiate the demolition drive by the end of current year”, source stated. Shobhna Bandopadhyay told that the Railways authorities will expeditiously carry the developmental drive at all the proposed railway stations, stressing over the plan of inducing important trains in the time table by keeping in mind convenience of the passengers. Further, she said that installation of CCTV cameras and other technical works in the local trains will be carried based on the specifications proposed by the Research Design and Standards Organisation and in accordance with the specifications, the installation plan for CCTV cameras will be executed. Shobhna Bandopadhyay on her inspection of Bhopal Railway Station took note of the proposed features prescribed for the development of the Bhopal railway station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
 
The General Manager during her inspection found unhygienic basin of water dispenser installed at the platform and commanded the officials to pay heed towards maintaining cleanliness at the station premises. The General Manager inspected food kiosks at railway station and directed the concerned to maintain hygiene protocols. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, a passenger on the condition of anonymity said that he is astonished to see the cleanliness drive at the station premises today. “I am surprised to see janitors sweeping the floor and less crowd today as this place used to burst at the seams on other days. Later, I was informed by my friend that cleaning of the railway premises is being done as the General Manager is coming for the inspection today”. Further, a passenger named Parmod highlighted that the officials should maintain the cleanliness of the premises every day. “It is malafide on the part of Railways officials carrying the cleanliness drive today as someone sitting at the higher position is coming for the inspections”, Parmod told, the inspection of General Manager made the authorities remove the ubiquitous paan stains.
