Taking their stand against the education mafia, the parents and guardians assembled at Malviya Chowk under the banner of Parents’ Association and later reached Collectorate to put pressure against the dictatorship of private school mafia, on Monday. The parents peacefully handed over a memorandum addressing to the Collector to initiate action against the autocratic attitude of the private schools. The private schools make constant attempt to pressurize the district administration by adopting various strategies to continue their dirty business. Association’s Sachin Gupta demanded to cancel the schools’ recognition if they deny to co-operate with the District Administration. The fees fixed by the government should be enforced immediately. The syllabus should remain unchanged for three years.

Students are forced to purchase three separate uniforms by private schools, which should end with immediate effect. Education can also be achieved with just one uniform and parents should be given complete freedom to purchase uniforms from any shop in the city. The fare of school buses should also be checked and its fare should be fixed as per distance. The school bus fees currently being charged are Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per student. This should be stopped immediately and the school should be ordered to return the illegal recovery made so far. The parents further warned to initiate fierce agitation if the private schools refuse to roll back their decision for indefinite closure of schools.
