DIG (Jabalpur Range), Tushar Kant Vidyarthi chaired the annual crime review meeting and directed the officers for ensuring conviction of accused in sensitive crime cases. He said for taking preventive action against listed criminals on the basis of their crime record. DIG, Vidyarthi sought information about every single pending crime cases and sought information about reason behind pendency of cases. He gave necessary directions to concerned officers for bringing pace in investigation and disposal of pending cases. He instructed for paying special attention on sensitive crime cases right from FIR, arresting, challan and regular follow-ups of witnesses before presenting case before the court. Reviewing the cases of 173(8) and 299 of Cr.P.C., DIG Vidyarthi said that police should obtain pending warrants from the court for ensuring apprehension of absconding criminals and providing relief amount to victims in pending SC/ST cases.
 
Officers were strictly directed for taking stern action against accused involved in stabbing cases and booking them under Section 122 of CrPC and also ensure apprehension of accused in 376 of IPC and 420 of IPC cases. DIG Vidyarthi directed officers for timely disposal of complaints received through CM Helpline. He also directed the officers for identifying water logging areas in their jurisdictions and making necessary safety arrangemtns near river-bridges, culverts and nullah for avoiding any kind of untoward incident in monsoon. Police should coordinate with JMC officers, SDERF and Panchayat Offices in different areas to take prompt action in case of water-logging and similar incident.
