Dindori police arrest Assistant Commisioner Uikey from hotel in Bhopal

After strict orders of the Court, Kotwali Police finally arrested Assistant Commissoner Amar Singh Uikey wanted in case of the Scholarship Scam worth crores. He was arrested from a hotel at Bhopal by Dindori Police and has been brought to Dindori.

It may be recalled that accused of scholarship scam of Tribal Welfare Department Amar Singh Uikey, Assistant Commissioner was granted one last chance by court to surrender. The court had ordered that if the accused failed to surrender before August 13, 2024, then his entire property would be seized and auctioned.

 

 

As a matter of fact, many questions were being posed at Dindori police for deliberately delaying arrest of Amar Singh. Assistant Commissioner Amar Singh during his tenure at Dindori in Tribal Welfare Department allegedly did scam of scholarship worth crores of rupees between February 25, 2019 to January 21, 2021.

 

 

In Lokayukta enquiry, this scam was of Rs 2,59,00,000. Then on the orders of Collector Vikas Mishra, on complaint of present Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Department FIR against Amar Singh Uikey was lodged under Section 420, 409, 34. He allegedly withdrew the scholarship of beneficiary students under Post Matric scholarship scheme, ST Scholarship Scheme, Redrcoss, Sports. Bharat Scout and Guide head and deposited in account of different individuals, organisations, and shopkeepers.

This scam is estimated to cross Rs 5 crore as found in departmental enquiry.
