The monsoon has become fully active in Madhya Pradesh, leading to moderate to heavy rainfall across the State. Another new weather system is becoming active on Wednesday, raising hopes of heavy rainfall in the coming five days in regions including Jabalpur, Ujjain, Sagar, Chambal, and Gwalior. Meanwhile, the Weather Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in 2 dozen districts. During the period, winds will also blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Spokesman of Weather Department informed that a cyclonic circulation has formed from the Arabian Sea off the coast of southern Gujarat, passing over Madhya Pradesh. One cyclone is forming in Haryana, while another is forming in southern Gujarat. A system has also formed in neighbouring Gujarat.
The entire State is experiencing a southwest to northwest movement. As a result, moisture is coming from the Arabian Sea, raising the possibility of heavy rainfall in several regions, including Jabalpur in the next five days. According to the Weather Department, the situation of gusty winds, rain and thunderstorms will continue for the next 5 days. With the activation of a strong system on Wednesday, rainfall activity will intensify. There will also be heavy rainfall on July 4. The Weather Department predicts favourable conditions until July 15. The current month is expected to receive 106 per cent of the normal rainfall.
The prevailing conditions have plummeted both day and night temperatures, giving much needed respite to the denizens from hot weather. The city on Tuesday recorded maximum temperature of 29.0 degree Celsius, which was 4 degree below normal range. Likewise, the minimum temperature was 24.0 degree Celsius, which was also one degree below normal. The humidity on Tuesday morning was 85 per cent while in the evening it was 76 per cent. Last year, on the same day the maximum temperature in the city was 31.7 degree Celsius while minimum was 24.7 degree Celsius.
